Tamara Atschba

The internationally recognized Georgian musician Tamara Atschba has lived and worked in Austria since 1995. The BBC Music Magazine***** has described her as an "incomparable and highly inspiring pianist". Her published recordings are receiving great reviews and have been repeatedly rated 5 stars also by French Diapason, Pizzicato, Fono Forum, American Artistxite, to name a few.

Since 2008 she plays with the French violinist Louise Chisson, a duo highly valued for its individuality, refinement and highest quality. Their last Album "20th Century feminine", published by Hänssler Klassik in Germany, has entered the nomination for the Grammy Awards® 2022 and the Deutsche Schallplattenkritik 2022. In January 2022 their Album "20th Century feminine" was honored with the Diapason d’Or. In 2020 both musicians founded a new series of concerts at the Ehrbar Hall, "Musik durch die Jahreszeiten". Tamara Atschba is co-founder of the Summer Music Academy in Monpazier, France and Vice President and Artistic Director of the Esperus Art Fund since 2016. Together with Ukrainian colleagues, Tamara Atschba founded the ProArt International Piano Competition in 2019.

She has recorded and performed in great halls including the Wiener Konzerthaus, Blüthner Hall, Bösendorfer Hall, ORF Hall in Vienna, Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Hall in Italy, Kaufman Hall in New York, Concert Hall Flagey in Bruxelles, the Shanghaï Oriental Center. She worked with renowned musicians such as Dora Schwarzberg, Günter Pichler, Ivry Gitlis, Gary Hoffman, Ophélie Gaillard, Evgeny Nesterenko.

Working at the Music University of Vienna since 1995, at the Prayner Conservatory (until 2020) and Franz Schubert Conservatory, Tamara Atschba has been awarded many times for her committed work with students and their achievements thanks to the insight and efficiency of her methods.
