Evgenii Artemenkov

Evgenii Artemenkov is a Russian violinist who actively participates in concerts, festivals and competitions. He began to study the violin at the age of 6 with his teacher Irina Kaverina. Evgenii soon became laureate in International and all-Russian competitions, and attended the Yuri Bashmet Academy at the age of 11. He took lessons from Professors Tatiana Samouil (Belgian Conservatory) as well from Alexander Trostyansky (Moscow Conservatory), and from Yuri Bashmet himself.

Evgenii was part of the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra and has performed in various halls such as the Berliner Philharmonic, Grand Hall of Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Hall, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Mariinsky Theatre and more. He did also work with conductors such as Yuri Bashmet, Claudio Vandelli, Valentin Uryupin and performed with Viktor Tretyakov, Sergey Krylov, Alexander Buzlov and Alexander Tchaikovsky.

At the age of 14 he made his debut as a soloist in the Samara Philharmonic with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of Samara under the direction of Mikhail Shcherbakov. He began his studies at the F. Chopin Moscow State College of Musical Performance in the class of Prof. Ilia Tkachenko. In Moscow Evgenii also became a laureate in the Turchaninova International Competition (3rd prize).

Evgenii lives in Vienna (Austria) since 2017 and studies at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt (Austria) with Prof. Anna Kandinsky. He also studies with musicians such as Johannes Meissl, Tamara Atschba, Irina Kandinskaya, Vida Vujic, Erich Höbarth. In 2020 Evgenii joined the Kandinsky Quartet.
